Dr. E Virupakshappa

Dr. E Virupakshappa is an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with two decades of experience in his field, based in Davangere, Karnataka. His specialisations include laparoscopy and infertility treatment. He studied at Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College in Belgaum, graduating with an MBBS in 1989, followed by the postgraduate MD degree in Obstetrics & Gynaecology in 1993. Dr. Virupakshappa also has the Diplomate of National Board (DNB) qualification to his name.  

Dr. Virupakshappa served as a Lecturer and an Assistant Professor at the JJM Medical College in Davangere. He then launched his own multispeciality hospital called "Latha Nursing Home" in the year 2000, situated in the PJ Extension area of Davangere town. In 2012, an Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) centre was started at the nursing home, the first of its kind in Davangere district providing IVF (in vitro fertilisation) services.     

The ART centre offers a range of infertility treatments, including semen analysis, intrauterine insemination (IUI), in vitro fertilisation (IVF), intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), embryo cryo preservation and egg donation. There are facilities for hormonal assay, video laparoscopic surgery, ultrasound and x-ray. The centre has an NICU and a well-equipped laboratory.

Dr. Virupakshappa's Latha Nursing Home is recognised for reimbursement for investigations and treatment of employees of several corporations and companies in Karnataka, such as state government employees, the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation, the Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Ltd, and the Karnataka State Teachers Welfare Fund. The hospital also accepts and endorses a wide array of medical insurance policies, including those from TTK (Vidal) Health Insurance, Medi Assist India, FHPL Family Health Plan, E-Meditek, Dedicated Health Service TPA.
